Project Director Jenny Ivansson (Växjö, Sweden) earned her MFA in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design in New York. After first working in the industrial design field designing luminaires, Jenny became interested in lighting transforms architectural spaces, and how it affects our psyche, how artificial light can mimic natural circadian rhythms.
She joined L'Observatoire Intl. in 2014 after 8 years in the lighting design field, and has worked on a wide range of cultural institutions, hospitality, and residential projects, such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Eisenhower memorial with Gehry Partners, The Grill at the Seagram Building in New York, the British Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Aoyama Global Treehouse in Tokyo with Roman and Williams.
For Jenny, experiencing and envisioning a space first is crucial before developing anything technical. She loves seeing a rendering come to life, and working with a talented, dynamic team towards a common goal.
