Carlos Garcia
Senior Associate
Senior Associate Carlos Garcia (Madrid, Spain) received his Master’s in Architecture from ETSAM Polytechnic University of Madrid. He worked on a variety of projects in Spain—from soccer stadiums to corporate offices and hotels—before moving to New York City.
Garcia joined L’Observatoire International in 2014 and has led large-scale projects such as Pier 17 with SHoP Architects, the Vessel designed by Heatherwick Studio, and Hudson Yards towers with KPF, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and Foster + Partners.
The synergy of proposing new ideas and collaborating to see a design through to fruition is paramount in his work. Garcia is particularly interested in transition lighting and the way the same tools can maneuver from one mood to another in a space, revealing the many faces of the architecture.
