Designer
Iam Chen is a skilled lighting designer, born in Amoy (Xiamen), China. He holds a BFA in Interior Design and an MFA in Lighting Design.
Iam joined L’Observatoire International in May 2023. He has been captivated by the studio’s approach to using light as a tool to reveal the inherent beauty of architectural spaces. Iam is particularly drawn to how lighting can transform environments, creating bespoke ambiances that enhance the overall experience. He believes that light is not just an element within a space but a powerful medium that can elevate architectural significance and bring spaces to life.
Iam Chen has worked on significant projects, including the Transamerica Tower in San Francisco, The Raleigh hotel in Miami and The National Gallery in London.
