Senior Designer Christina Hébert (Montréal, Canada) developed an interest in lighting while completing her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture in Ottawa and pursued a career in lighting design for four years before obtaining her Master’s in Architectural Lighting Design from the Hochschule Wismar in 2014.
A recent addition to the l’Observatoire International team, Hébert brings over ten years of experience to the office, having worked in Canada, Germany, and the UK before settling in New York. Her extensive knowledge and experience have led to her traveling all over the world, collaborating with different teams in the development and realization of elegant solutions for a variety of complex, demanding, and award-winning projects, from retail lighting to urban masterplans.
Hébert is a designer by heart and values the importance of giving back to her peers all her knowledge and fascination for a user-dedicated lighting design approach. She is an active member of the lighting community, including giving presentations at the Professional Lighting Design Conference, DARC ROOM, and London Design Week. She was a finalist for the Young Lighter of the Year award in 2015 from the Society of Light and Lighting on the topic of light as a symbol of urban identity.
