The Trading Floor Operations Center is a renovation and redesign of the existing Ramp area on the trading floor of the Stock Exchange. It is a multi-functional component of the existing Trading Floor which serves as the nerve center for the computing operations as well as a media and event theater for showcasing new listings, hosting public events, and for live television broadcasts. The Ramp is located between the architecturally impressive Main Trading Room and the Blue Room, a later trading floor addition.
The project includes a real-time virtual environment which displays activities and events of the Trading Floor to users with a fully interactive and navigable environment. The innovative design combines new forms and materials with technology and functional efficiency to form a powerful visionary component of the existing Trading Floor. The lighting integrated architectural design consists of an undulating blue glass wall that carries flat screen monitors on its surface, a fibre optic illuminated work surface, a large recessed elliptical light source above the main platform area, and an illuminated large scale graphic wall.
