The Row announces the opening of its first brick and mortar store in London, England. The Row debuts its first international retail location at 15 Carlos Place dedicated to the brands’ ready-to-wear and accessories collections, along with a curated selection of jewelry, furniture, artwork, décor, and specialty items.
Co-founders and creative directors, Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, collaborated with architect, Annabelle Selldorf for The Row’s Mayfair location. Following New York and Los Angeles, The Row’s London flagship incorporates the history and integrity of the Mayfair building at 15 Carlos Place.
The entrance greets visitors with a piece by James Turrell, entitled “Elliptical Glass” illuminating the space with its changing light display. The space opens up to the ground floor, lined with Selldorf’s custom rails, vitrines and shelving. The floor is curated with the womenswear ready to wear collection, a curation of jewelry, handbags, and specialty items. John Chamberlain’s “Funn” anchors the space as clients make their way to an arts and crafts staircase leading to the lower level. Opening the second floor is a sculpture by Isamu Noguchi greeting guests to a custom lit footwear salon. Past a selection of womenswear, the menswear salon features a selection of ready to wear, footwear, and leather goods.
On the choice of Mayfair for The Row’s London flagship, Mary-Kate Olsen explains, “London has always been such an important market for us. When this space became available it just made sense. Ashley Olsen adds, “We are pleased to expand The Row’s retail footprint by offering an exceptional and unique client experience to the United Kingdom.” Similar to the retail space in Los Angeles and New York, The Row’s London location will offer clients various items in the space for sale. Pieces range from furniture to décor sourced from select partners including Galerie Jacques Lacoste, Galerie Patrick Seguin, and Oscar Graf, and specialty items such as Masa ceramics, Ana Khouri jewelry and Augustinus Bader skincare.
The Row’s Mayfair location marks an exciting next chapter for the brand, as it expands globally with select retail locations and an online flagship.
