Situated in the heart of West Chelsea, The Emerson’s sophisticated design offers spacious residential units with expansive views. As with the nearby High Line, whose lighting was also designed by L’Observatoire International, the Emerson’s lighting is atmospheric yet distinctly iconic, allowing for discreet functionality while forming a memorable identity. Indirectly lit vertical coves merged within a window grid and uplighting for cantilevered terraces bring visibility to the rich materials and forms of the facade, developed by GDSNY. At the interior, layers of lighting provide adaptation to the day’s rhythm, providing flexibility and highlighting feature art while establishing a foundation of general ambient light for a comfortable and minimal elegance
