The African chalets are part of a long tradition of patronage in which every aspect of the project, from architecture to artwork, lighting and even graphic design, has been conceived in the spirit of Gesamtkunstwerk.
Francis Kéré's sense of space and materials, inspired by African traditions, combines with the traditional architecture of chalets built according to the rules of the art, following a centuries-old tradition. Traditions and references overlap to create a unique living space, as warm as it is impressive, and fiercely contemporary.
Exceptional materials such as wood, fabric and stone, as well as works of art that punctuate or even structure the spaces, are always used to support the work of light.
Light is used to prioritize spaces, to give them their importance in relation to one another, to guide inhabitants and guests, while also serving to warm the place up, making it an incredibly cozy space to inhabit, on snowy winter days or bright summer days, while at the same time underlining its aesthetic and spacial qualities.
