AIANY Design Awards 2025 Exhibition at the Center for Architecture

July 31, 2025
The AIANY Design Awards 2025 celebrates outstanding achievements in Architecture, Interiors, Projects, and Urban Design, recognizing work by AIA New York members and architects practicing in New York City. This year’s 23 winning projects were selected for their excellence in design quality, response to context and community, program resolution, innovation, thoughtfulness, and technical execution. Eligible projects were either completed by AIANY members or by architects/designers based elsewhere working on New York projects.
Among the awarded works, several projects featuring lighting design by L’Observatoire International have been recognized:
-
The Lindemann Performing Arts Center – Award of Merit, Architecture category
-
St. John’s Terminal – Citation for Biodiversity, Architecture category
-
Blanton Museum of Art Grounds – Honor Award, Urban Design category
These projects are currently on view as part of the AIANY Design Awards 2025 exhibition at the Center for Architecture (536 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY), running through September 2. The exhibition showcases the full range of honored work, highlighting the breadth and innovation of architectural practice today—and the essential role lighting plays in shaping spatial experience.
